A Dream...

As I walk down the dirt road I am at peace and completely aware of the glory in my surroundings. I see the trees, I notice the clouds and I smell the flowers in the meadow beside me.  There are a few people here and there. I realize that I don't know where I'm going, but I am aware that I'm carrying something. I look down, but I can't see what it is.
As I continue down the road, everything changes. They are subtle at first but then grow in power.  There is a shift in the clouds and the grasses in the meadow bend.  I know what is happening. I see God presence leave the trees.

I walk faster, afraid now. I look around to see if any of the other people notice. They stare at me with void eyes.

      The light is gone.
I run. I have to get away from this place that God has left.  I fill with panic and shout his name.  "Jesus!"  I say it over and over.  I go faster, and shout some more.

Inside my dream I am aware that I'm screaming His name.  I am aware that Paul is beside me in the bed and I think, "I know he can hear me, why doesn't he wake me up?"
Then, as suddenly as it died, the meadow beside me fills with life again.  The tree beside me saturates with life and I quiet as the fading flowers blossom with glory.

A child beside the road turns to me and smiles. Everything is fine. God is back as I fall to me knees on the road. I see that I'm carrying a Bible and then I wake up.
"Did you hear me screaming Jesus' name?" I ask Paul.
     He didn't.

There are a handful of dreams that I remember.  This will forever be one of them...

Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Acts 16:18 And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And it came out that very hour.
